1) Feedback is a key element in the cybernetic formulation of communication. Take feedback as subject matter and demonstrate its workings.
2) Both W. Ross Ashby in “Principles of the Self-Organizing System” and Burnham in “Systems Esthetics” discuss the role of the observer in the construction of a system. The same system perceived from a different point of view can present different effects and results. Consider point of view and how it can influence our perception of reality.
3) Picon in “Architecture, Science, Technology and the Virtual Realm” argues that virtuality is an essential part of architectural design, in that it imbues it with possibilities. Virtual reality on the other hand introduces simulation of reality to our toolset and with it a host of problems and opportunities. Interrogate the possibilities offered by simulation and virtual reality how it expands the possibilities for architecture and/or introduces the problems of hyper-reality that Beaudrillard discusses in “Simulacra and Simulation”.
