Inquiry1.0

The Networked Ecologies studio provided a critical context for experimental practice engaging contemporary networked ecologies. The first three weeks involved the analysis and visualization of a network selected by each studio member. The outcome of this phase of the project was a media object that presented the research on the chosen network.

Students then designed and developed an intervention within a networked ecology. They constructed a dynamic physical model of their network, and situated them within a collective site model constructed within the studio. Students were challenged to derive a tactical response to the conditions their network presented, and to perform their intervention within this model.

The final phase of the studio involved documenting these networked performances through the production of short films that narrated each project concept and the dynamics of its manifestation.
