The research that is shown is reflecting that of wave particle motion. We began simply looking at how waves are initially formed, and the system they use to do so. This system is nothing but complex, introducing many variables that flawlessly work together to form a cohesive method of energy renewal, as well as a system that may be changed by surrounding factors. These parameters then began to dictate the direction of the research. Looking at outside systems, such as wind, tectonics, and gravity, allowed us to significantly alter the initial organization. Therefore, we ended up with five different classifications of waves, and their specific variables within the new systems. Measurements such as wavelength, wave height, period, and surface energy are able to be calculated using a number of formulas that take into consideration the outside energy being put into the wave cycle.
