Based on a study of flocks of starlings, this grid of spheres represents the line of behavior of the flock. Each of these images shown above displays the density of the flock at different stages. Spheres were kept the same size as the space between units on the grid was expanded. Intervals for X and Y axes were equal for each expansion.
